SBA is a leading player in the field of standard weighing equipment and large-scale industrial weighing units. Servo Balans was set up in 1934. For the first few years the company focused specifically on the production of "servo scales." Very soon came the steel strip scales (hybrid) that are used on a large scale in duplex scales, silo scales and platform scales. In a very brief period Servo Balans built itself a very good reputation and also had a very successful start. In the Fifties, steady growth continued. The export of rapid scales and servo scales took off and the company grew exponentially. One of its most important sales markets was the cattle fodder industry, rapidly followed by many other industrial sectors. In the Sixties and Seventies Servo Balans became a leading player with an international reputation. A good 80% of its orders were now coming from abroad and the demand for Servo Balans's weighing products in the Netherlands also grew. The extremely successful duplex scales were now being sold in large volumes to top companies such as Douwe Egberts, Unilever (Honig) and Tate & Lyle (Zetmeelbedrijf de Bijenkorf). And the first silo scales were developed and went into production at this time. |
